During the kids' spring break from school we decided to go the Virginia Beach for a short vacation.

One fo the first things we did was to rent a four-person bicycle ($17 for 2 hours), and pedalled
up and down the board walk.  It was a grey cloudy day with very few people out, but we still
made the best of it.

There were several of these sculptures on the beach.  You can see the Atlantic Ocean in the background.

Don't kick that concrete ball!

We had dinner at Captain George's seafood buffet.  Our table was underneath a huge glass
dome with nautical patterns in the stained glass.  The food was very good, but not as good as
having blue crabs at home.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and had a beautiful ocean view with a balcony.
The hotel was recently finished and also offers complimentary hot breakfast.
We also liked the instant-brew coffee machines in the lobby.

I shot this super-wide panoramic view of the light house on Cape Henry.
This was shot from the old historic light house that stands next to the
newer one that you see in the picture.  The kids enjoyed climbing the spiral
staircase to the top.  The view at the top was really amazing.
